Rabbits Teeth

Question
For a while now my rabbit has been tugging on her water bottle when she drinks. She has plenty of rabbit toys, hay, and even wood to chew on. Lately, I have been noticing a clear liquid on random occasions throughout her cage. It happens quite frequently now that I find the liquid. I have no idea what it is, could it be a sign something is wrong? Also, I checked her teeth and it looks as if her front bottom teeth are a little crooked, is that something to worry about? They do not cover the top teeth, but they are crooked, and there's the clear liquid, and she always tugs on her water bottle. Please help, I have no idea what's going on with her. Oh, and she eats fine.

Answer
Hi,

she could be just driping some water from her mouth, or possibly even causing some to spritz out of her bottle from tugging on it.

Either that or she's starting to mark her cage with urine.  There would be an odor to it however.

Per her teeth, if they appear crooked, I'd take her in to your regular good rabbit vet to make sure it's okay or if there will be some teeth trimming in her future.  If she's really going to town on the bottle and you believe that is a possible factor, you might want to switch her to a large, heavy ceramic crock (bowl) for water.  It is a more natural position for them to drink from and they tend to drink more and more often from a bowl than a bottle.

If you need to find a good rabbit vet (and you should have one), start here:

to find a House Rabbit Society recommended vet near you.

The other thing is if you had her from a baby and she's 4 months or older now, she's hit sexual maturity and her increased hormone levels are accounting for the behavioral changes.  This would also be something to discuss with your rabbit vet, in terms of what options you have regarding this.
