Question
hi there! was wondering if you can give me some advice regarding my 8month old male rabbit.he is in good health as far as i know, and gets a good diet but his poos seem awful small next too my other rabbit.they have always been on the small side ever since i got him,he seems to be producing a decent amount them and they also look alot darker compare to the rabbits.i feed him on a handful of supa rabbit in the morning then make sure there is plenty of meadow hay and fresh grass and a handful of fresh greens.he eats well and is very active just abit concerned seeing the comparison of my two rabbits. should i get him checked out?
thanks for taking the time to read this.
kind regards
shon

Answer
Dear Shona,

Different rabbits do tend to have different looking poops, and no one really knows why.  Our Obie had tiny poops all his life, though he made LOTS of them, and he never had any health problems.

Poops tend to be darker and smaller when a bunny is eating a lot of greens, as opposed to a lot of hay.  Be sure the pelleted food doesn't have any treats in it, such as seeds, dried fruit, nuts, etc., as those are very unhealthy for a rabbit.

But otherwise, if he's producing LOTS of poops, just keep an eye on him and assume all is well unless you see a real reduction in the *quantity* of his poops.  That might signal a problem.

Hope this helps.
