When can a guinea get pregnant again?

My ginny just had babies on wednesday. i have the male and female in the same cage but they are seperated from a divider. I went up there and they had gotten thru the cage. It couldnt have been maybe for more than an hour. they didnt seem to be doing anything but im not sure. When can she get pregant again?

Hi Leeann,

Sows can get pregnant immediately after the birth, within hours. I would expect her to be pregnant again - it only takes seconds for the boar to mount her and get her pregnant. You need to get a vets opinion ASAP and have emergency vets lined up for the next 10 weeks - her body has not had the chance to recover from this birth so she *may* encounter problems with this pregnancy. Not guaranteed but it is possible.
