Can I handle newborn guinea pigs

Hi,
My husband purchased a guinea pig from the pet store that just had babies. Can I handle these babies to change the cage? Where do you suggest I put them while I clean the cage?

You can handle the babies but if the mother displays signs that she is stressed by you picking them up (which is quite rare) then make sure you keep them all together.

When I change my cage I put my pigs in a large box with hay in or I let them run round my living room, but this wouldnt be appropriate yet for the babies.
