Taming My Sweetie

Hi, I have a guinea pig named Sweetie, but she is far, far, FAR from sweet.  She was given to me by a woman that works with my dad because her son wasn't responsible enough to take care of it.  They said that she was nice and very personable but she hasn't allowed me to touch her without being bitten from day 1.  It's been a while, and I pretty much gave up and let her be.  Recently, I noticed that she REALLY needed grooming, and by looking online today learned that guinea pigs need baths(which i didn't know), but this is impossible since she's an absolute holy terror.  She has long hair and gets blobs of poop stuck to her back end.  So far I've just tried cutting it off with scissors but I want to find a better way to keep her clean and better groomed.  Can I get tips on how to pick her up without losing a finger, how to get her to like me better, and ESPECIALLY how to bathe/groom her in the meantime?  Please help!!!

OKay 1st she needs help huh? Okay to pick her up without her biting you, you need to take an old t-shirt or blanket and put it over her head so she cannot bite you and then you can pick her up. Or hold her firmly without getting near her mouth. To train her you need to show her you care, talk gently and warmly and let her know you want to love her. Pet her and praise her with food when she doesn't bite. That's all you can do to get her to like you is trust. To bathe her, you can choose either the tub or sink. I prefer tub because the sink is slippery and they can jump out,Use a mild shampoo to loosen the dirt and Poop and use WARM water nothing to hot. Make sure all the soap is out, and camly dry her. SHE WON'T HATE YOU FOR THIS FOR LONG. SHE WILL FEEL SO MUCH BETTER. Gently comb out her hair with a soft brush or comb and then you can clip away hair is nescessay. If she tries to bite have someone hold a blanket over her head not suffocating but just drape one over that. Good luck and tell me how it goes, please rate me. Thanks
