belly hair loss

Our guinea pig is about 8 years old and a female.  We went on vavation for 2weeks and had her looked after by my son who is 18.  When we got back I noticed a bald spot on one hind leg and on her belly.  Could this be from stress or what? we feed her pellets and fresh produce.

It could be from stress, it could also be from old age. I doubt it is mites since you have had her so long. I also have a pig that is around 9 years old that has hair that is thinning, she has had a preventative shot for mites, but still has a little hairloss, it is most likely due to symptoms of old age. Hairloss can also come from liver problems due to old age. It is really hard to say, but if it was stress which is common then her hair should start to grow back, even if it isn't stress then there is not much you can do other than give her lots of attention and love.
