Question
Hi, i have 2 guinea pigs roy and tina (both about 4 months old). Tina is  a pregnant sow. i would like to know how am i supposed to deal with her during her pregrancy, what food is good for her, should i let her with roy and out for exercise each day? What should i do while she is giving birth?

and is clothes good as bedding?

thanks

Answer
hi,

OK.... where do i start?...

Start off with giving her extra food daily and guinea pig cereal mix with vitamin C is essential

Get a cardboard box, fill in with hay and clothes... this will act as a labour room and a comfortable bed for her and the newborns when they come

Yes until she is about 50 days pregnant, give her exercise but not with roy. But if they are seperated they may pine for eachother so seperate the grass pen in half so they are still with eachother but not, if you get what i mean?

Also you can not do anything whilst she is giving birth, 80/100 you will not see her give birth, if you just so happen to do, leave the room! As tempting as it is to watch this will make her stressed and may cause problems whilst labour!
