? hurt guinea pig

We got 2 two days ago. today 1 of them looks funny. he was laying on his side in the cage,was squeeling when we picked him up. Then it seemed as if 1 of his rear legs was like hanging down (not the others)It almost seems like 1 leg is hurt but there really hasn't been much time out of the cage.Only 3 different times being held for less than 10 minutes at a time.

what type of flooring do you have? Do you have a wire mesh bottom because guinea pigs can easily get their legs caught on the wire mesh bottom, it truly sounds like your guinea pig has injured his leg somehow. I would certainly rush your guinea pig to a vet as soon as possible for medical treatment. When Guinea pigs are in pain they won't eat or drink and so you have to hand feed your guinea pig until she is able to gain her strength. You will need a feeding syringe and you should mash his food a paste and you can mix it with pedialyte or warm milk.
