Question
Hey Kat...
I wrote to you previously about Squeaky sneezing a bit too much.  She isn't doing it so much anymore, although I notice that when both of them really get to running and jumping they both start sneezing.  I think its just the small amount of dust in their bedding.  So, they're both healthy, and seemingly very happy!  My new question for you is this...I was told that both are females, and have done some research on sexing the pigs, and from what I can see (or rather not see!) both are girls.  But yesterday Squeaky started to get a bit "frisky" with Lenny, if you catch my drift!  It was during a play session when I noticed it.  Lenny was rolling around on their hammock, and when she jumped off Squeaky got on her.  I haven't noticed it since then, but was wondering if this is normal for 2 girls, or if you think I might have a boy and a girl.  I don't want piggy babies!  Any suggestions?
And I'm not sure if it makes a difference in this behavior, but Squeaky is the more outgoing, adventurous one, and Lenny is the follower, for the most part.
Thanks so much for your advice!
~Sarah~

Answer
Hello Sarah,

Glad to hear they are both well. It's common for a female to mount another female when the female is in heat (when the female doing the mounting is in heat, I mean). If you are pretty sure they are both girls, the most likely are. Squeaky was just likely in heat. You (and Lenny) will likely have to deal with Squeaky being a bit obnoxious during every heat. Don't worry though, piggy heats typically last less than 24 hours. I'm very happy the sneezing was nothing. Best wishes to you, Lenny, and Squeaky.
