QuestionQUESTION: Hi,
I want to get my male guinea pig a friend but I have heard that if I put a male in with him they will fight and I don't want to get a female for fear of babies. What should I do?
Thank you!!!
ANSWER: Hi Lynette
A baby male will probably be fine and I have never had a problem introducing a baby male to an adult male. The adult may even be quite fatherly.

QUESTION: Thank you for your answer. At what age is a guinea pig considered an adult. Mine is about 6 months old.
AnswerHi Lynette
He may be still growing a bit but for the purposes we are discussing he is an adult now. I mean by that, that another adult male (over 2-3 months old) would more likely fight whereas if you can get a baby of no older than 7 weeks old the chances of that are much diminished.
