my sad pig

our guinea pig is about two years old and recently he has been scratching like crazy and loosing hair.  his skin is very dry and crusty.  He is a long haired g. pig that has lost most of his hair.  His eyes are iratated alos.  The pet store said it might be mites.  I can't afford to go to the vet and was wondering if there is an at home treatment for this.  thanks for your help.

Unfortunatly, its bad news.
He does have mites, mites is deadly, without treatment he wil die a slow and horrible death.
I am sorry but there is no other way to put it. I dont know how but he needs medicine to survive. Perhaps ask the local vet if you can do a long term payment plan of certian weekly checks/cash until its paid off. Or ask the local shelter if they can help you out. Other than that I just dont know, but those are he facts.
