Questionhi there i have a 4 mth old male GP by the name of azumi. he lives indoors in a HUGH cage. he was given to me by a friend of mine who GP had babies an he was the only one left. I would very much like to get him a companion. I know it would be best to get him a female but was wondering is it ok to keep a neutered female with an un neutered male. the reason i am asking this is he has recently had an op to remove bladder stones and didn't really want to put him thought another op to neuter him. there is a cavy rescue center near me that have females for rehoming that are already neutered and was wondering if this would be ok or not before i get him a little friend. thanks
AnswerMichelle,
It is perfectly fine to keep a neutered female in with an un neutered male. There will be nothing to worry about in keeping them together as the female will be neutered, so no babies and Azumi will have a good companion. When keep a male and female together, with no wants for babies only one of them needs to be neutered.
Take care now,
Jules
