Question
I asked you a question about my 3 guinea pigs, Ruby, Bunny and Honey (Now we know he's a boy, we've changed his name to BILLY)

They are all doing well, My Dad is making a cage for Billy.

It's starting to become more clear that Bunny and Ruby are pregnant, but i'm still unsure what to do.

You told me to seperate Ruby and Bunny, but i can't as cannot afford to make another new cage.
Is there any chance i can keep Bunny and Ruby together without causing a problem?
I think they could have both gotten pregnant at the same time..

Could i solve the problem by putting something to seperate the two sides of the cage ? Although one side is inclosed and the other is outdoor.
I live in Australia, so the climate is pretty warm here, even at night, But will that be alright?

And when they have the babies i'm thinking about keeping one of the boys to stay with Billy, so he doesn't get lonely.
Will this be OKAY?

You have no idea how much you are helping me, you're a saint.
Thanks heaps, CHLOE.

Answer
Chloe,

Even if Bunny and Ruby got pregnant at the same time it doesn't mean they'll give birth at the same time. So it is better to split them. If you can separate the two sides of the cage so that they can't see each other and stuff, at least till one of them gives birth. Which ever one gives birth first let the mom and the babies spend 4 days together before un-splitting the cage. So that will be fine, it is just that if one goes into labor the other will also and that may cause a premature birth which is dangerous to both mom and babies. So having it split so they can't see each other will work out just fine.

The boy babies can stay with Billy once they reach their 3 week old mark. As they will need to be separated from mom and sisters. Just make sure to rub the boys down with something that had Billy's scent on it before placing them in with him.

I hope this helps,
  Take care,
    Jules
