new mom

i thought i had two boys and i woke up to two pups in the cage. one was only half, and im not certain of what happened? also the babies ears look injured. mom and pop look like they are trampling the babe and not taking care of him, im still not certain whos the mom or dad please help me, im freakin out

okay well first things first we need to identify the mother. women on their underside have a Y shape,0- for males. dont worry about the trampling its a guinea pig thing, ear as well quite often get torn. she will probably be taking care of them fine, but just in case if you can spend a day hanging around to see if she feeds them at any point. if not then you're going to have to hand feed them every four hours with a kitten formula. or else find a guinea pig that is just weaning its existing babies. it will also be a good diea to feed them alfalfa hay and plenty of greens. as a warning the female will likely be pregnant again as they are fertile right after a birth and unless the male was removed i the first hour she will likely be expecting again.

sex the babies at three-five weeks, any males should be removed, it will be fine to keep them with the dad.
