Feeding Young Guinea Pigs

Question
Hello!
I have two guinea pigs that are currently almost a month old. I know they should have unlimited amounts of hay, I give them Timothy hay, but being guinea pigs as young as them, must they receive alfalfa hay? Also, I give them pellets and they don't always finish them, so just a handful for each will do?

As for vegetables, they don't seem to have ever been introduced to them yet. By other websites I'm unsure whether they should start with vegetables this young. Thank you very much! :)

Answer
alfa alfa hay is actually not a good idea, while it is higher in calcium it also has a tendency to damage the guinea pigs, timothy hay is plenty.

as for feeding the guinea pigs are grazers like goats and cows, they need to spend most of their day eating, just leave a bowl filled with food in with them and then fill it up once empty, it is bad for their digestive system otherwise.
vegetables and fruit are good, but as a rule of thumb the more watery and richer then the worse they are for guinea pigs.

the following would be fine

carrots, peas, beans broccoli

i would avoid citrus fruits, apples grapes and things that are very watery and contain a lot of sugar.
