Biting!

Question
I have two male russian dwarf hamsters. I had no problem taming when I first got them and they were a delight to handle and play with. HOWEVER... I recently bought a new puppy and on quite a few ocassions she has barged her way into my bedroom and attacked and barked at their cage. Now when I go to handle my little dwarfs... they bite me! I thought this would only last for a few days after getting a fright from the pup but they are still biting me.

thank you for your question.
you need patience with them, they probably are really scared now and treat anything coming to their cage as a threat. You will need to tame them all over again. Offer food or maybe even their normal food only on your hand and don't try to hold them until them are comfortable sitting on your hand again.
