My hamster is bleeding

Question
My hamster is bleeding from his bum and i have given him some milk for the first time i'm wondering if that could have affected him in this way?

Answer
It is a possibility, as hamsters are not supposed to have any dairy products what-so-ever. Human milk is very strong, and can give them extremely bad diarrea, as well as mess up their intestinal tract.

Check and see if your hamster has diarrea. If so, then it is the milk that caused it, and the bleeding is a prorduct of the diarrea.

Try toasting a piece of toast lightly, and then let it cool off. Break him off a couple of small pieces and offer it to him. This may help soak up some of the milk in his system.

If he does not have diarrea, I suggest letting a vet examine him, as the bleeding could be a sign of cancer, a cyst, infection, or other numerous types on possibilities that only a vet can diagnose.

Hope this helps!
