when to change cage -hammy with babies

Question
My hammy had babies 10 days ago. Her cage now is too small with the babies crawling soon. Besides, its a wire cage and the babies can accidentally slip through the wires. I want to transfer them in a 54L Aquarium.

My question is : when is the safest time/ age of babies to transfer them? Is it ok then to include the hamster mother with them? I am thinking of separating them by gender at 6-7 weeks.

also, yesterday i cleaned one corner ( behind the nest ) of the cage bec the hamster mother amde it its toilet and stock palce at the same time. The foods are spoiling and she pees there and eat there too. I dont want her getting sick so i cleaned it with tissue then pulled some straw from the other side of the cage to cover her corner. I also replaced new foods ( dried ) so she wont notice much. I wonder if that was OK to her? she doesnt seemed bothered bout it though. She simply went to the corner right after i clean it and chew some foods.

i wait for your reply,
lily

Answer
Dear Lily,
thank you for your question.
You can transfer them to the new cage now, but give them their old nest and some of the old bedding so that the tank smells the same. You will need to separate them much sooner than 6 weeks, hamsters can breed with 32 days or so. At an age of 30 days they don't need their mother anymore and this is also a good time for separating the genders.
Cleanign the toilet corner is fine, the hamster is not bothered by that.
I hope I was of some help to you
