bump

hey kelly...
my hamster ( Homer) has a bug bump on the side of his hip. he just got it. i went somewhere and camer back and he had this big bump on the side of his hip/ leg.
it is fine on the other side.
it doesent seem to be bothering him, hes running fine, and eating/ drinking fine. i need help and fast!

Hi Dave,

It sounds like your hamster may have an abscess.  An abscess results from a bite or scratch becoming infected.  The abscess will soon burst and spread the infection throughout the hamster, so you should get your hamster to a vet as soon as possible.  The vet will drain the abscess and give your hamster a course of antibiotics.
