Tumor or what?

Question
I have a female teddy bear hamster, about two years old. Very beautiful but I know something is wrong with her. On her belly/ side there seems to be a purplish red lump with a black scab like on top of it. Is this a tumor?  Her eyes are good and shes eating regular her coat is a little fine but that could be dur to season and age. She is also having a hard time walking and her head is tilted to one side. I called our vet but she is out intil a week for friday. I can't afford to take her to the er because mone is tight. I already fell bad and everytime I look or tihk of her I want to break down crying. I am at a lost of what to do. Any info even if guessing would be appreciated. I looked up what it might be and its almost breaking my heart. I know it sounds silly because it is only a rodent but she is my little girl.

Answer
Hello Rica,
first i want to say please don't cry about what's happening. There's nothing you can do to prevent what's happening. I don't think it's a tumor, it's probably a cyst or abscess or even just a scar. I think the head tilt could mean a stroke or an ear infection causing her to tilt her head and walk funny since she's off balance. Right now there's nothing that you can really do to help her until you take her to the vet so she can properly diagnosis her. Again, I want to stress this is not your fault and her coat being fine is more than likely due to old age as well. I hope your hamster gets better and please keep me updated on what happens.
