Hamster types

Question
I was wondering if you could tell me the difference between the different types of Syrian hamsters (For example: Golden, Black Bear, Teddy Bear, Satin, etc)
If you don't know, that is totally OK! :)

Syrian hamsters were originally all golden - but over the years with various matings, other varieties of Syrian have been created and now you can find hamsters of all different colours, pink or black eyed, short or long haired, single coloured or banded.

Satin hamsters are very glossy - their coat feels incredibly soft and is lovely and shiny.  If you put a traditional golden hamster next to a golden satin - the traditional one would look very dull by comparison.

Long haired hamsters tend to be referred to as teddy bears.  Some Syrians are bigger than usual and often have black or dark brown fur and look like bears.

I don't know if this helps at all - there are several hamster books that have some great photos of the different varieties - so it is worth having a look at these as it is quite difficult to describe them.
