Contractions!?

ok, no babies yet, and she looks calm now. she has been sleeping for a few hours.

Hmmm. I'm not sure what to make of that. Is there any way to pick her up without startling her? Feel her stomach. Is it hard? Lumpy? I dont have my vet manual on hand at the moment. i've had hamsters do this but not if she was rolled in a ball. Please let me know what you feel.
