My gerbil is listless....

Hi Shawntiah,
I have a 1 year old gerbil who has recently been really listless and lethargic. She will just sit in one place looking really tired. She has had 5 litters of puppies and she is currently taking care of her 4 week olds.(she had 4 this time) Is she just tired from her puppies? Will having 5 litter shorten her life span?

Hello Sarah,
Generally having a lot of litters like that can shorten her life and make her ill. I think she is tired from having this litter and I personally wouldn't breed her anymore. I wouldalso try to give her more nutrients in her water like half pedialite and half water or i'd buy small animal vitamin drops.
