hamster with mites

my hamster has rashes and lose of hair and all the signs but to me it looks like it has like little open cuts do you think the anti-mites spray might hurt him.

hi priscilla,

it does sound alot like mites, but just to be on the safe side, take a close look at him and under his fur, and check to see if there are small black specks moving around there. if so then the tiny cuts are most definately a result of his constant scratching and the spray wont do anything but sting a little. no pain, no gain as they say lol.

make sure you clean out his cage with the anti-mite spray, wash your hands after words, give him new food, sawdust and bedding to avoid reinfection.
