Question
QUESTION: i have a female short haired syrian who gave birth to 6 babies a lil over a week ago and need to know how to make her fat again..she was small to begin with but seems like there is nothing to her when i pick her up..anything on how to get her atleast a lil fatter would help out alot..(the cheaper the better)

ANSWER: I had a similar situation with one of my hamsters. I fed her extra food, apples(with out the skin, and in little chunks), hard boiled egg, and carrots. This should help her keep some weight on her. Please let me know how things go.

Answer
It sounds like she may have wet tail, either take her to the vet as soon as possible. Or go to a pet store and get a wet tail treatment. Wet tail is a very serious disease. Sadly baby hamsters can not usually be treated for the wet tail disease.
