Gerbil and hamster relationships

Can i have a critter home for both gerbils and hamsters to live within it at the same time?

Hi Alyssa,

Gerbils and hamsters cannot live together, as they are different species.  If you tried to put them together, they would just fight, probably to the death.  (The gerbil would most likely win.)  Gerbils should be kept together, in same-sex pairs.  Syrian hamsters must be kept by themselves, but dwarf Russian hamster can be kept in same-sex pairs.
