Hamsters change in behaviour

Question
This is not so much a concern, just a confusion. One of my hamsters (caged on its own) has a stroke (or so we believe after looking up the symptons of what happened) about 2 weeks ago, seemed to be ok after it, has been fine but has been acting a lot more active and behaving strnagely such as not sleeping in his usual places, and napping half standing up resting on his behind, resting his head on the outside of the cage. He seems healthy and is cleaning himself regularily eating and drinking, i was just wondering if there is anythign to be concerned about as i heard change sin behaviour in animals often show a problem. He is defintiley behaving different now, i was wondering if you coudl shed any light on the matter.

Answer
Dear Charlotte,
thank you for your question.
Did you see a vet with the hamster? If not, I recommend doing so because then you can rule out any medical problems that might lead to behaviour changes. You might find a vet knowledgeable about rodenst here:

Any changes in his cage or surroundings might cause his different behaviour. But if you have ruled out medical problems and there were no significant changes, I'd say that it's normal. Sometimes hamsters will start or stop doing things for no apparent reason (one of my hamsters for example stopped using his house one day and from then on always slept in a nest outside).
I hope I was of some help
