Hi,

May i know if we are allowed to take the food bowl out, wash it, and replace the bowl back in the cage with clean food?

Please advise!

Thanks for your question.

There is no problem with washing the food bowl and returning it will more food.  Sometimes you need to do this, and especially if you have put any wet food in it - in which case it will need washing daily.

I advise that if you use any detergent on it to remove any food, that you thoroughly rinse off with hot water to make sure there are no traces left.

Most times the hamster isn't too bothered when you return it to their cage, especially as it is full of food for them.
