BOSTON TERRIER BREEDING

Question
I have a Boston that had 2 pups back in Sept. She had them 45 min. apart, both breech and died after an hour of trying to get them out. My husband & I raise Boxers and have been for the last 6 years. I have 4 females and 1 male. I always know when their puppies are due and help deliver them if I have to. The vet said I needed to hold the Boston rear up and pull down on the puppy. I was afraid of hurting her. Shes bred now and due the last week in March. If I run into this problem again, was I told the right thing to do ?

Answer
It is good advice. Only, pull towards the dam's hocks, don't pull straight down towards the floor. Only pull on contractions. You can also stand her up, and then pull towards the floor. You need someone to help if you do it that way. I'm going to give you a web site that has pictures on how to do this. It's www.debbiejensen.com use the index on the left. Good luck, and if I can help with anything else, let me know!
