What do I tell the stud dogs owner about my bitch?

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I asked a question a few days ago, but I know you must get TONS of
questions each day, so you probably don't remember me. I was just
wondering what I should tell my possible stud dog's owner about my bitch.
We are communicating over the internet and he said "I will need to know a
little about your bitch. Fur, etc." But I don't know what 'etc.' is. What info
should I give him on my girl? I have already given him height at the withers
and a few pictures. Thanks in advance!

ANSWER: Hi Astrid

It's important that he knows the lines (sire and dam as far back as you can get), health and temperament issues.  Try not to be "kennel blind".  If your female is not good with children, or other dogs, make sure you mention it.  Two tempermental dogs make lots of tempermental puppies.   Provide a health record, shots and vet visits. Include any negative aspects, if she's splayed, has crossed eyes, a tentancy to limp, is cow hocked, (these are just examples and no way reflects on your female).

Remember that HIS male must be tested for brucellois as it's transmitted and is deadly to any pups, and a nasty STD is something you don't want for your female.

QUESTION: Thanks. I have something else about your answer. What does 'splayed' mean?
And also what is 'cow hocked'? Thanks again!

Astrid

Answer
Can you refresh my memory on what breed your dog is.  Then I can give you better description of breed specific defaults.

Splayed is a term used to denote feet that are spread out.  "Toes" should be nice and tight.

Cow hocked, is when the back legs "knees" are touching.
