boxer litter

My female is 1yr 5 mo.'s .  she delivered yesturday only 1 puppy.  She was never really big around the belly.  She is not breathing heavy, but does not look too happy and is very protective of the i puppy. It is possible that she has more puppies in her?

Hi Julie. After one of my girls whelps, I always take her to the vet for the cleanout shot. If you don't make 100% that everything's out, it can set up infection, and even cause death. It would hurt to take her in just to make sure that she deleveried everything. You said she doesn't look happy, that may because of her very young age. 1 year 5 months is very early for a Boxer to have puppies. Because she's so young, she most likely doesn't know what she's suppose to do. Whelping and caring for a puppy will also take away a lot of her reserves, so be prepared to help her.
