Female White German Shepard

I have a 9 month old female German Shepard who has not had her first heat session. I saw a recommendation to wait till the second heat to breed. What are the risks if she gets pregnant in the first heat. I also have a male white German shepard and I am wondering the risks.

Hi Ray. You have a larger breed. This girl needs to wait until she's at least 2 years old before breeding. If you let a dog this young be bred and become pregnant, then you're asking for a whole load of problems. My best advice would be to let her finish growing before adding the stress of having puppies.
