My dog inhaled something

Question
I was walking my dog the other day and she suddenly began sneezing violently (expelling mucus and some blood as well).  She had been sniffing around in an area of tall grass and I'm sure she inhaled something into her nostril.  It has been almost two days and she is not sneezing as frequently but is obviously still not quite right.  She won't engage in normal activities and doesn't want to be touched much.  If there is something still lodged in her nose, how much concern should I have and when should I take her to the vet?

Answer
Hi Megan,  I'm sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner.  It sounds like your dog inhaled a foxtail which is the tip of the tall weeds your dog was probably sniffing.  If you haven't gotten her to a vet, you really should so they can check to see if it is still in there or if she has sneezed it out.  Foxtails travel, so it can travel anywhere.  You have to be really careful that they don't travel too far into the body and nick somthing dangerous.  Hope this helps, and good luck.
