beagle with hurt right leg (behind)

hi a few days ago my dog missy was in the house playing with my husband . when she started to yelp.and hold her right leg up. It does hurt her all the time but it does once in a while. she is 3 almost 4 years old. could it be just a sprain or something else. please help.

It is difficult to say hun whether this could be a simple sprain or a broken bone. If she can put her leg t the floor without any pain or discomfort then I would rule out a broken leg but she will still need to be examined by the Vet incase she's strained her ligaments which can take several weeks to heal.

Meanwhile, keep rubbing and massaging her leg with warm hands and see if this helps with the pain. It usually helps in the majority of sprained or pulled muscles.
