doggies and expectant mothers

My daughter in law is expecting any day soon. She will be breastfeeding and some people have commented on  her having a dog in the house. She has a miniature pinscher who is 6 months old who also acts like a baby himself. So i just wanted to ask an experts advice regarding this. Thank you.

Commented in what way? I breastfed my daughter 24 years ago, my son 21 years ago, and another son 15 years ago. I have never NOT had a dog in the house. I can't imagine what the issue would be with this :) Good hygene is always necessary when breastfeeding sooo...I'm at a loss
