Breeding Pug

I have a 4 year old pug that I am breeding.  She has quite irregular cycles to begin with (ranging from 8 to 10 months between heat cycles), and she's not a "heavy bleeder" even in the peak of her cycle. I have bred her before (she had only 1 pup).  We bred her for 3 consecutive days, but this time after breeding, she has been spotting almost as if she is back at the beginning of her cycle again.  Should I be concerned?  She is still wanting the "male attention."

Hi Jeanne,  It depends on what color the spotting is.  Also, she could have an infection which is causing these symptoms.  You can have a smear done by the vet to see if she has an infection so that it can be treated and not get to the puppies.  Hope this helps,
