my male mating with female

Question
I currently have a ready bitch @ my home to mate with my male.  He has been mounting her but not able to penetrate her. I am not sure if he is hitting the spot or what.  He also seems to pant heavily and I am afraid that he will tire easy.   He has sired 3 times already. Any suggestions? Yorkie Terrier.

Hi Candy,  You may need to hold her to help him.  If he is experienced, then she just may not be lined up right.  If you are comfortable about it and he has not problem with you handling him, you can place him in her as he is mounted on her.  Some stud dogs have no problem with that others will quit immediately.  Holding her up for him is the first place to start and then help him if needed.  Hope this helps,
