Behavior in puppy

Question
I have a male Chorkie puppy.  Half Chichuahua and Yorkshire terrier.  He's a good little guy. We've talked to our vet about neutering him, he won't do it until he's 5 months of age due to him being so small.

Everytime I leave for an hr or more, when I return, he's very excited to see me.  So excited that his penis (sorry) comes out.  It's bothersome because we have kids.  I ignore this behavior but I'm wondering if this is a sign that he should be neutered earlier.  He still squats to urinate and hasn't mounted anything or anyone.

Any information would be great.  Thanks.

Answer
Hello...and no..you should get him neutered when your vet says, but do it right when he says..if he starts to lift his leg, then you are too late. The thing you are describing will not change..most likely. You should either ignore it or ignore him when you walk in so he isnt excited as much and wait a few minutes. Otherwise, just explain it as natural to your kids.  good luck
