Chihuahua whelp

Question
Hello, my Chihuahua was accidently bred @ 11 mos., she was 3.9 and the male is small too.  Today she's around 61 days and I'm thinking about C section, I plan to take her to the vet.  Could she free whelp? am I putting her at risk by not taking her to the vet? she's so full of puppies.  Perhaps she should be x-rayed and then maybe the vet can advise me.  It's better for her to not have the C section.  Do you have any advice for me?
Thanks

Answer
Hey Colleen. I'm happy it all went well. The reason I recommend a spay is b/c if she had to have a c-section the deliver this litter, it's not safe at all to have to put her under anesthesia & cut her open just so she can have puppies. Doing another c-section can also cause some complications. It may not go so smooth next time. You could potentially lose her or some puppies. Most unspayed dogs also develop something called "pyometra" when they get older. This is where the uterus gets infected & can be life threatening. Just think about HER safety before you breed her again. Thanks!
