chihuahua pup with teary eyes

Dear  Becky,
          I have bought a chihuaha pup from a breder two days ago with his first shots.   He is 9 weeks old and I have noticed that he has watery eyes. When I first met him his eyes were fine(5 weeks old). He is active and loving.  Should I be worried or does he miss his brothers and mother?

Hi Liz!

If the tears are clear, then he is fine. If they have mucous or looks like infection, then you should have him checked.  If you are giving him lots of attention, I doubt he misses his littermates.   Chihuahuas will tend to have teary eyes, so it's nothing to be worried about.
