dog urinating in crate

Question
My 10 month old spayed Weimaraner has problems urinating in her crate while my husband and I are at work. She has only done this since she was spayed. I know she doesn't like sitting in it and i'm pretty sure she waits as long as she can. On the days I'm able to come home just a few hours early, she hasn't gone yet. The main part that's weird about it is that she used to be able to hold it before she was spayed. I would like to put a bed in her crate to make her more comfortable when we are gone but I can't when I know she will urinate. Please help! I need some suggestions. I'm so tired of coming home and cleaning up after her a giving her a bath everyday. Thank you!

Answer
How long ago was she spayed, Melody? Sometimes it can take a while for things to 'firm back up' in there after the uterus and ovaries are removed, just like when a hysterectomy is performed on a woman. Have you spoken to your vet about it? If not, I would.

In the meantime, you might consider buying a grate to go in the bottom of her crate so that if she >>does<< pee, she doesn't have to sit in it until you get home.
