Question
We are taking on a year old Lab male that has lived in a garden for 7 months, had no training and is like an unruly teenager. His owner has done nothing with him and has been told if she doesn't get him under control he will be taken from her.  we have 5 acres of land at the back of our house as we have horses so we will be out with him 9 hours of the day.He will be loved and well cared for. However as we have a very old nervous cat plus two other rescue cats he will have to sleep in a spare stable near the horses. The stable will be kitted out with a lovely bed, Infra red lamp for when it is cold and it will be lovely. He will be in it just to sleep with toys and a bone etc. We cannot as yet have him in the house. No one else wants him so this is better than going to the dogs home but some people say I am being cruel!

Answer
I too would like to see him in the house.  I can help you manage him in the house.  However, I wouldn't call what you propose cruel.  One thing I would like to suggest is that you are careful not to give him a chance to chew the cord to the light.  He may not even need the light.  Dogs that live outside develop a heavy inner coat allowing them to be comfortable.
