shepherd retriever mix -knot on head

I JUST RESCUED KING FROM A SHELTER. HE IS A BEAUTIFUL DOG, BUT AFTER WE GOT HIM HOME WE FOUND A KNOT ON TOP OF HIS HEAD ABOUT THE SIZE OF A MARBLE. A NEIGHBOR SAID HE HAD A SHEPHERD AND HE ALSO HAD THE SAME THING AND ITS PART OF A SHEPHERD'S MAKE-UP. IS THIS TRUE? HE GOES FOR A FREE CHECK-UP NEXT WEEK.

I have never heard that.  I doubt it's true.  It could be several things, more than likely just a small cyst, nothing to really worry about. The Vet may need to remove it.  It can wait til you go for the free check up.  I'm so glad to hear you rescued him!  That's just wonderful.
