3 1/2 yar Weimaraner

Question
We just adopted a 3 1/2 year spayed female Weimaraner from a co worker that had gotten her from relatives that had bought her. Co worker put her in a small fenced yard and tied her to a tree since March..she is in fair shape and already LOVES being in the house with the three boys, ages 12, 9, 2 1/2. She has ISSUES with putting her head on the table at dinner, listening at all, and she eats like she is starved, although I did some research and am feeding 1 to 1 1/2 cups twice a day.I just am not sure how to break her bad habits, but not break her..I read about the sensitivity you have to take in training Weims..we also have a american bulldog/terrier mix who is 1 year and pregnant, and kind of ill right now, but a very sweet dog..she needs TLC and proper instruction, but is an AWESOME dog already...Thank you for your time...

Answer
Exactly what issues are you needing help breaking? Putting her head on the table at dinner is easily solved by either putting her in her crate, gating her out of the room, or putting her in a down-stay while you eat.

Have you considered enrolling in a basic obedience class with her? I think it would be beneficial to the both of you.
