Shit tzu eating habits

I recently got a shit tzu. His previous owner gave me some pedigree puppy chow for him. He has not eaten any food since he got here yesterday afternoon. Is this normal? What food alternatives would you suggest? His owner said he liked cat food with his dog chow. Could that be why he hasn't eaten, the fact that there's no cat food in the chow?

Stacey, it's common for dogs to not eat when they are stressed, and going from home to home can be very stressful. Pedigree dog food is NOT what I'd recommend feeding him. Please take a look at the following page to learn why:

If he still won't eat in a day or so, you may want to have him checked out by a vet just to be on the safe side.
