Question
Hi Diane,

We have a wonderful dog that we adopted about 7 years ago that is part dalmatian and part English pointer.  He has developed a couple of masses about the size of a quarter on a couple spots on his body.  We have taken (Ringo) him to the vet here locally and have been told it's nothing to worry about; that it is a very common problem with dalmatians. The mass seems to be getting slightly bigger recently.  If we push or squeeze it, he does not react at all.  What do you recommend?  Please help us to be sure it's not somethign we should be taking care of.

Answer
Get a second opinion. Sometimes it's worth the extra expense just to have some peace of mind. While it's true that Dal's are prone to fatty tumors they are not always benign.  It's probably nothing to worry about, but change the probably to definitely by getting another opinion.
blessings,
Diane
