Doberman developed bumps

Question
I have a 12 yr old Purebred Doberman Pinchser who about 3 months ago developed what looks like a floor burn or a type of blister or a really big bump on the end of her nose which has a bloody look to it but it dont bleed just extremely red and after a while her lymphnodes started to swell up extremely and then as time went by she started getting many bumps of little almost like wort or blister bumps on the top of her head and bottom of neck and then down her back and the inside of her thighs. It dont seem to bother her like they dont hurt. She gets baths with vet. approved shampoo and there is no difference she has been given a human antibiotic and no difference and used an external bacteria killer and no difference she has not changed her diet or food in years. Some days she has all her energy but others she just seems sick as can be and all lazy which is not a characteristic of this particular dog she is always happy to see you and ready to play so im very curious as to what these bumps are and how to cure them, im on a tight budget and shes old so a vet. hospital is almost out of the question, what is you diagnosis?

Answer
Chad,

Animals of any age can develop allergies.  Since you are unable to see a vet I would recommend trying a hypo-allergenic dog food that has lamb and rice.

As a nurse, not a doctor I cannot diagnose what's going on with your pet, especially since I cannot examine her.

I suggest trying a hypo allergenic dog food and slowly switching her over to it, mix 1/4 of the old food with the new for 2 days, then 1/2 for 3 days then 3/4 for 2 days, then 1/4 for 2 days.  Changing the diet too rapidly may cause diarrhea and upset stomach.

The lethargy is worrisome and I do encourage you to find a way to see a veterinarian, there are payment plans such as Care Credit available at many hospitals.  Wouldn't want something simple to take her away from you any sooner than possible.

Take care,
Laura
