Question
our older chow (male-fixed) has been tearing apart my other dogs leash. He also has been peeing on my dirty clothes and on my bed. I know he gets mad because I take her for walks and I cuddle with her allot. Shes a border collie mix, very smart and allot younger. She takes his bones and is mean to him allot. She runs the house and yard, he could easly kill her but he doesn't want to get in trouble, so he puts up with her. He is our watch dog and very protective of his property, likes no one. She copys him and barks at things but loves and craves people attention from everyone. A real lover, sweetheart, of a dog. I love her so very much and he is sick of it. I can not walk him, he is very big and strong and he pulls me all over and the control collars don't work thus far. He does get to go out front, (tied to a tree)which he just loves. He gets love and attention from us, just not as much as I give her. Shes my lap dog, my child, my lover and my friend. A great gift from god when my husband no longer wanted my attention. I love sunny very much also, but sister is more affectionet and small and soft and smart. I need her love and time. but I hate that he feels left out. I only walk her once a week, but play ball with her everyday, he doesn't want to play much, hes very big, and kinda fat , gets tired fast, and has to watch the doors, windows, yards, etc.PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO. Besides keeping him locked outside. He pees when we are not looking. We have been finding pee after the fact. HELP...

Answer
Well what might work is to try to give him as much attention as you give the new dog, that way he will not know that you love the new dog more, even if you can't walk him, when he is outside pet him a lot and give him treats ect And slowly bring the new dog into it,then he might see her as a fun buddy to have around, instead of competing with each other

Sometimes at best they will just tolerate each other, but that is better then being jealous-and at best they may become good buddies
