Question
Our Rhodesian Ridgeback has, what feels like a big oblong bubble on the
bottom of her earlobe.  I don't know if it is air, blood, or fluid in there. We only
noticed it last night and today id a holiday and we would like to know if it might
be something  serious.

Answer
Hi there,

It's really something how these things seem to crop up over a holiday weekend!

There are a few different kinds of cysts that this might be. The most common masses on a dog's ear are benign cerumenous gland adenomas, which can be seen as a single mass or as multiple masses within the horizontal ear canal. Neoplastic (cancerous) cerumen gland tumors are also seen, though they are much less frequent.

You need to have your dog examined by your vet so you know exactly what's going on.

Best of luck,
Patti
