fresh food diet for dog with kidney stones

Question
Hello my mastiff had to have surgery to remove kidney stones from his bladder and penis. Now he refuses to eat dog food. We had him on blue buffalo grain free with our other dogs and he eats 12 cups a day, well before his surgery. Now he will only eat fresh cooked meals with raw veggies. He has lost 25 pounds so we and our vet are just trying to get him eating again. He was in hospital for two weeks recovering and wouldn't eat much there either. So we are thinking of switching all of the dogs to fresh cooked meals daily but we are wondering what  the new diet should contain? Thank you

Answer
A good site that explains what sort of raw diet should be fed to a dog with bladder stones is  https://www.b-naturals.com/newsletter/bladder-stones-crystals/

Here's how to start a raw-food diet: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Raw-Food-Diet-for-Dogs

You might find a raw feeding email list helpful; the people there will probably have several diets they can share with you: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/K9Nutrition/
